I initially went in to MAC to purchase Dark Side but when I was told it was out of stock (no surprises there as it is a gorgeous autumnal colour), I was pointed in the direction of Hang-Up which is quite similar in colour but a Cremesheen finish. A quick swipe over the lips in store and I was sold. Hang-Up is a gorgeous blue toned deep berry colour and it couldn’t be more perfect for this time of year. Although it looks extremely dark in the bullet, it doesn’t come out that dark on your lips (unless you build it up that way). It is highly pigmented and leaves a gorgeous red wine stain when it starts to wear off. I’ve been wearing it religiously for the past few weeks and I have never had so many compliments. A friend tried it and it has also prompted her to buy it too. The only slight downside I find to this lipstick is that the creaminess of it can cause the colour to settle into the lines of your lips so try not to go over the top with it – I’d of probably preferred it to be more of a matte than a cremesheen finish. However, if you prep your lips properly before applying then this shouldn’t be a problem (lip scrub, lip primer, lip liner). Hang-Up is such a gorgeous colour, I love it. I can’t wait until pay day this week and I can stock up on some more Winter/Autumn shades.
Do you like Hang-Up? What’s your go-to Autumn lipstick? Do you own Dark Side? How does Hang-Up compare?
