This week’s lipstick choice was a hard one. I knew I wanted a nice light pastel kinda shade to see in the Spring months so I put it to vote on Twitter and Up The Amp was the winner! I absolutely adore this shade of lipstick, it is probably my favourite of the amplified lipstick family from MAC. It is hard to describe the colour as it is looks so different in different lights and it looks completely different in the bullet as it does on the lips. MAC describe Up The Amp as a ‘lavender violet’ and I’d say that description is somewhat accurate. In the bullet it looks like a light mauve shade and on the lips it has a slightly pink tinge to it. The colour is truly fabulous, there really are no other word to describe it. It won’t be to everyone’s taste and I guarantee it won’t suit every complexion but it’s right up my street. It’s a truly unique shade and a great colour for the Spring months. It is highly pigmented like the majority of MAC lipsticks are and it is long wearing. I usually get between 4 to 5 hours before I need to re-apply. MAC amplified lipsticks are creamy, moisturising and they have a lovely glossy sheen without settling in to any of the fine lines on your lips (I’d still recommend some lip prep though – it’s key – scrub, primer, etc). I’m ready for the Spring now!

Have you got Up The Amp in your lipstick collection? Are you going to be rocking this shade throughout Spring like me?
