Another foundation has some how mysteriously found its way in to my make up bag… How did that happen? Oh, I need to stop spending. Actually, I need my bank card taken off me and cut in to tiny pieces. Anyone up for the task? I’m going spend crazy lately but I’ve read so many good reviews about NARS Sheer Matte and Sheer Glow that I had to give one of them a go. I have oily skin so naturally I opted for the Sheer Matte Foundation. I just love the matte finish, anything that is oil free, will help control oil and keep it at bay is bloody good in my book. NARS Sheer Matte Foundation is slightly more expensive than my normal foundation picks (Estée Lauder Double Wear and MAC Studio Fix Fluid) but only slightly and it is still within the limit of what I find acceptable to spend on a foundation. I absolutely adore all the NARS products packaging – it is quite plain but still so chic and classy looking.

The shade of foundation I opted for was called Santa Fe (they’re all named after places which I love) and it was a perfect match to my skin tone. I used Findation to match the colours based on other foundations that I use and I’ve had nothing but success with this website every time I’ve used it. NARS offer the biggest selection of colours ranging from shades for the palest of pale skin tones right the way through to the darkest. There is quite literally something for everyone. It offers a sheer lightweight medium coverage that you can easily build up for a night out when you want a fuller coverage. It sets on the skin extremely quickly so you do need to work fast when it comes to blending. I found that it did control oil but not as much as Estée Lauder’s Double Wear. However with the help of my beloved Vichy Dermablend Setting Powder, it comes pretty damn close. I know that some matte finish foundations can make your skin look quite flat but NARS Sheer Matte Foundation made my skin look much brighter, healthier and clearer. It’s a great foundation for my good skin days but it needs a bit of work for when I’m having a bad breakout as it doesn’t cover the redness of blemishes as much as I’d like. It’s buildable though so it can get there. That aside, it is still up there near the top of the list as one of my favourite foundations and I’ve tried a lot… Luckily my bad skin days are few and far between and it creates a gorgeous, natural and flawless looking base. What more could I ask for? Well actually, I wish it came with a pump?! Sheer Glow has definitely gone to the top of the shopping list… I need it! (Note the need and not the want).
