Clarins Ever Matte has very quickly became my go-to foundation. It has very quickly overtaken Estée Lauder Double Wear and MAC Studio Fix Fluid for the top spot in my list of favourite foundations. Yes, you’re reading this right ladies and gents – I said it! It is a skin balancing foundation that contains a cocktail of minerals and plant extracts to deliver all day protection against unwanted shine. It perfect for oily and combination skin like mine. Lately, my skin has become incredibly oily and I was the hunt for a new foundation that could cope with my forever changing skin and a friend recommended this as Estée Lauder (as much as I love it) just wasn’t cutting the mustard. My skin changes like the weather and I have a number of different foundations to combat each change so why not add another, right? Clarins Ever Matte is a medium to full coverage foundation and it is incredibly long lasting. I still needed to blot throughout the day with Clarins Ever Matte Mineral Powder but the times were few and far between so it wasn’t really an issue. It lasted a tiny bit longer than Estée Lauder Double Wear and a lot longer than MAC Studio Fix Fluid but it looks much more natural. You only need a tiny amount to get a really good coverage and it is buildable without looking like you’ve caked it on with a trowel. Clarins Ever Matte Foundation is lovely and creamy and has the most gorgeous scent. I’m usually against using fragranced products on my face but this was really refreshing, subtle and a little bit fruity.

The packaging of this foundation is fabulous – it is really simple yet sleek and luxe with the addition of the gold lid. It comes in a squeeze tube which I happen to really like as it means I can control the product without being wasteful and it’s incredibly hygienic and user friendly. Plus when you’re travelling about, there will be no potential for smashed glass. Bonus! It isn’t a cheap foundation retailing at £27.00 but it is in the same price bracket for most of the foundations I use and it is worth every penny.

  • Looks good! Did you notice any darker shades by any chance? I think I need a new foundation – my oily nose is really annoying me now!

    • They have loads of shades and some of them are quite dark so I think you’d find a shade for you somewhere on the colour chart definitely! It’s great coverage and really natural looking! Xx

Which shade do you use in this foundation? I’ve tried the Rimmel Lasting Finish Foundation in Classic beige and think that’s a great fit for me. And I saw that you’ve been using Rimmel Wake me up foundation and concealer in the same shade 🙂

    • I use 109 Wheat! ☺️ you can use too which I always find helpful at matching foundations based on others that you use! Xx

Thanks for your answer! 🙂 Bought this foundation in the same color as you and it was a perfect match 🙂 Love the foundaton so far!
I’ve also tried and it’s very helpful, But could you please tell me what shade you used in bourjois healthy mix foundation? I want to try it soon, and need to be sure that I buy the right shade since I have to buy it online. and can’t agree between the shades 52 Vanilla and 55 Beige fonce, so it would be helpful to know your perfect match.
I’ve become a big fan of your blog already, despite the fact that I discovered it just a few days ago 🙂

        • I’m actually 53 Light Beige. I’m glad you enjoy my blog lovely. Xx
