Last year when this baby launched as a limited edition palette, I sadly missed out. Whilst perusing Space.NK I noticed that Hourglass had released the Ambient Lighting Palette again and this time as a permanent feature in their cosmetic line. Fate? I think so, I was clearly meant to have this in my make up collection. I pre-ordered this bad boy for £50.00 (£6.00 cheaper) and waited three long weeks or more for it to be delivered. After following poor Dave round the entire North West of England in his van (via the email link, not stalking), I finally heard the knock on the door I’d been waiting for. It’s here, it’s beautiful and it’s love. The palette itself is housed in a luxurious dark brown, metallic looking case and it contains three gorgeous shades that provide a fabulous sort focus glow to the skin. The palette itself contains three shades, two from Hourglass’ permanent line of Ambient Lighting powders and one that is exclusive to this palette. Let’s meet the shades…

Dim Light is a gorgeous beige/peach shade that adds some radiance to your skin. I use this as the setting powder of the three shades by dusting it all over my face with a powder brush. I like my foundation to be matte and this stops my complexion from looking flat and lacklustre.
Incandescent Light is a light beige shade that I like to use as a highlighter as it is the perfect shade to add a subtle yet noticeable highlight to my skin. This is the limited edition shade from the palette that can’t be purchased individually. It adds a really soft shimmer that isn’t remotely disco ball looking.
Radiant Light is a golden beige shade that adds a very warm and very natural looking sunkissed glow. It is perfect for adding a bronze shimmer that really boosts your complexion. It isn’t over the top, it’s very subtle but beautiful and would be perfect for even the palest of skin tones.

The Ambient Lighting powders from Hourglass are the most gorgeous, natural looking powders I have ever laid eyes on. They help to refine, highlight and boost your complexion with a beautiful soft focus glow. They stop my skin from looking flat and dull but provide a smooth, even finish. The powders offer a gorgeous, silky, smooth texture and they are so incredibly finely milled that they apply to the skin with ease to provide a truly ‘lit from within’ glow. I have been reaching for this palette daily ever since it made its way in to my possession – I literally can’t get enough. When I first received it, I spent a good hour or so just staring at its beauty. Sad, maybe but I love my make up and I mean come on, just look at it guys! The Ambient Lighting Palette is a little pricey I’ll admit retailing at £56.00 but it’s worth every single penny and I will certainly get my fair share of use out of it. It is an amazing way to try out a few of the Ambient Lighting powders without committing to an individual shade or two as they retail at £38.00 each. It’s safe to say that I am head over heels in love with this palette and it completely transforms my overall complexion making it a really worthwhile investment in my book. I’ve had so many compliments already about how great my skin is looking… Winner!
