Another month has quite literally flown by and here I am, sat at my little iPad, compiling my monthly favourites for July. In a few days, we’ll be entering August… Can you believe it? So I know you are all dying to see what’s made the cut this month and there have been some good beauty bits that’s for sure.
First up is one of my favourite cleansers that has had a little revamp for the Summer months and it’s a limited edition one sadly – Liz Earle Cleanse & Polish Hot Cloth Cleanser Orange Flower and Chamomile. It has the same fantastic formula of the multi-award winning original but with soothing chamomile and a gorgeous orange flower scent. It is just as effective as the original but it feels much lighter but more hydrating and nourishing. Plus that scent is ideal for the warmer months, so refreshing. Sticking with the skincare, I have developed a total addiction and love affair with Pai’s Rosehip BioRegenerate Oil. I adore Pai as a brand as they are natural and organic and this is without a doubt the most concentrated Rosehip oil on the market today. If you suffer with acne scarring, blemishes, dull or dehydrated skin then this stuff is definitely for you. This has been an integral part of my skincare routing in the evenings since it entered my life. I use it every night after serum but before moisturising and my skin looks so much clearer and healthier. It is pretty incredible.
There are so many make up items that I’m loving this month that I found it quite difficult to whittle them down for this post but I managed to do it. I have been loving Chanel Perfection Lumiere Velvet this month, it is the perfect mattifying base that isn’t too heavy and still holds up pretty well in the humidity. My skin has been looking much clearer lately so I’ve been taking full advantage of the lighter coverage of this foundation. I have been teaming this with Topshop’s Powder Blush in Do It Again and my skin has never looked so good. Do It Again is a stunnin coral red shade with subtle shimmer that adds a lovely highlight to your cheekbones. As I mentioned earlier, the key word for most of July is ‘humid’ and it is an oily skinned girls nightmare. When it comes to my eyeliner, I’ve had to pull out the big guns in the form of Illamasqua’s Precision Gel Eyeliner. This stuff has some incredible wear time and staying power, creating the deepest and blackest opaque lines in one foul swoop. Humidity don’t have nothin’ on this liner that’s for sure. No worries. I couldn’t write a favourite posts and not include two seriously impressive products that I’ve received this month; my gorgeous custom made Inglot palette and NYX Butter Gloss in Strawberry Parfait. I won both of these as part of a giveaway (lucky me eh?) and they’re products that I’ve wanted for the longest time and they did not disappoint. The Inglot eyeshadows are buttery soft, easy to blend and apply and they are incredible. The NYX Butter Gloss have the super shine of a lip gloss without any of the stickiness or tackiness. They melt on your lips and feel so comfortable and nourishing. I’m hooked. Strawberry Parfait is a gorgeous medium blue toned pink that looks so pretty on the lips.
Lastly, my favourites wouldn’t be my favourites without some haircare loving. With the warmer weather, my naturally quite dry and frizzy hair has needed some extra TLC. I have been loving Garnier Ultimate Blends The Sleek Restorer Oil which contains both cocoa butter and coconut oil. It not only has that fabulous holiday coconut smell but it has the ability to transform my lifeless, dry hair to some serious silky, shiny, soft and healthy looking hair. I use 2-3 pumps of this oil in to my hands and work through my damp hair before blow drying and straightening. I sometimes put a bit more on my dry hair to tame flyaways. My hair has been looking and feeling so amazing lately. I adore the entire range but the oil is the true hero of the group in my opinion.
