It’s been a while since I’ve posted a lipstick of the week and I’m back with a goodun, an olden but a bloody goodun – MAC’s Dubonnet. Dubonnet is described by MAC as a ‘deepened claret’ and it is a wonderful Autumn/Winter shade and one of my favourites along with the other A/W reds like Chili and Diva. It is a rich, deep, warm red with a definite brown undertone and it is one of those shades that would look flattering on almost any and all skin tones. Dubonnet has an amplified creme finish which means it applies to like an absolute dream, gliding across the lips with ease. It applies fully opaque in just one layer without clinging to any dry patches on the lips or sinking in to any fine lines – it leaves behind a gorgeous glossy sheen too. What more could us girls want from a lipstick? It packs an absolute punch in terms of pigmentation and staying power – it stays for around 5 hours before settling in to a gorgeous red stain. Dubonnet wears really comfortably on the lips like a balm and isn’t remotely drying – I love it.
