Kiehl’s Ultra Facial Cream with Tinie Tempah & MTV Staying Alive.

Kiehl’s Ultra Facial Cream* (125ml) in association with Tinie Tempah and MTV Staying Alive – £43.50.

MTV Staying Alive and their brand ambassador, Tinie Tempah, have teamed up with skincare and beauty gurus Kiehl’s to design some funky limited edition packaging for their cult product, Ultra Factial Cream. This is to help raise awareness and money for a well deserved global charity dedicated to preventing the spread of HIV in young people today. Kiehl’s have announcaed that MTV Staying Alive is their official charity partner of 2015 and that they will be donating £2.00 of every purchase of the limited edition face cream to the charity, up to a maximum of £6,o00. Kiehl’s have a longstanding heritage in the fight against HIV and in the past ten years alone, they have raised an enormous amount of money for HIV and AIDS charities. What I don’t understand is why they have decided to cap the donation total at £6,000 and not more? Why cap the donation amount at all? MTV Staying Alive charity funds youth-led HIV awareness projects based all over the world which help to come up with new and innovative ways of reaching  young people to provide information about HIV and the importance of safe sex. A lot of people today are under the impression that HIV isn’t as big an issue anymore compared to what it used to be many many years ago and that simply isn’t the case. It has had massive coverage just recently with Charlie Sheen letting the world know that he is HIV positive. When I received this package from Kiehl’s through the post, I was astounded by some of the statistics that I was presented with on a little card inside. Here are a few of them:

  • 2 million new HIV infections in 2014.
  • AIDS is the number 1 cause of death of adolescents in Africa and number 2 globally.
  • Nearly 50% of all people living with HIV are unaware of their HIV status.

The Kiehl’s Ultra Facial Cream is a wonderful product, especially for this time of year. It is a super rich, lightweight and intensely hydrating moisturising cream. It leave your skin feeling soft, supple and comfortable for a full 24 hours so why not treat yourself and help out a great charity whilst your at it, hey? If you don’t want to spend £43.50 on a facial cream then you can also do your bit to help by texting HIV1 to 70660 and donate £5.00 to this fantastic charity.

I totally agree. It’s lovely to see brands get behind charity!

    • I totally agree with that. I think a lot of brands can take a leaf out of their book and get raising some money for charity.
