bareMinerals Mineral Veil – £21.00.
If there is one thing I rely heavily on as an oily skinned lass it is a good setting powder, something to hold my face and make up together. Something to keep everything intact y’know? I have tried a number of different setting powders in the past and most of them have done a fairly good job (namely Vichy’s Dermablend Setting Powder and By Terry’s Hyaluronic Hydra-Powder) but they’ve not been ‘perfect’. I was doing the rounds, reading up on some of my favourite blogs a week or so ago, and I came across this powder on Helen’s blog – she absolutely raved about it. Whilst I was in my local beauty salon having a good old pamper, I spotted Mineral Veil amongst the bareMineral’s stock and I remembered that post. Naturally, I purchased it and it came home with me. Mineral Veil is a very finely milled powder that minimises lines, absorbs oil, softens the complexion and provides a flawless and completely weightless finish. The powder itself is completely translucent and great for oily skin. It leaves a gorgeous, soft and airbrushed finish to your skin that has a very subtle and natural glow. I have only used this powder around a handful of times and I can already say that it is without doubt the best finishing powder I have tried so far (and I have tried a lot). The packaging is pretty basic, a standard clear plastic pot with a black lid and inside is a sifter with a plug. Yes, a plug. That tiny little addition of a plug makes it perfect for travelling – no powder getting everywhere, covering everything – ideal. It also means that you won’t be wasting any product. I apply this by tipping a small amount of the mineral powder in to the lid, I then swirl a brush around the lid to collect the powder, tap off any excess, and then swipe it all over my face. What I really adore about bareMineral’s Mineral Veil is that the skin looks natural, yet luminous and not remotely cakey. I find a lot of finishing powders can really make my skin look flat and dull but not this one. No sir’ee! I’ve used this in a variety of settings so far – work, shopping, nights out – and it really has come up trumps on all occasions. It has certainly pro-longed the life of my make up and kept some of that pesky shine at bay. It’s a hit!

bareMinerals Lash Domination Volumizing Mascara.
I naturally (and sadly) have quite short, sparse and thin eyelashes so mascara is very important for me and something I definitely couldn’t live without. Mascara frames the eyes making them stand out so it is an absolute necessity for any girl to have a decent mascara that they know and love. When Lash Domination was on display at my local salon, I was instantly drawn to it. Not only does it have really pretty silver packaging but the words ‘Lash Domination’ just jump out at you in bold capital letters. How could I not buy it? Well, technically I didn’t buy it but my mum did as a gift. Lash Domination claims to be a 10-in-1 mascara that has the ability to volumise, lengthen, thicken, seperate and lift your eyelashes whilst being smudge resistant, clump resistant, flake resistant, mineral fortified and having the ability to last all day. This mascara from bareMinerals does A LOT or at least it claims to. This mascara has a spiralled 180 degree all around curved wand that is meant to coat, grab and define each eyelash whilst adding length and volume. I find it difficult to find a mascara that actually offers length and volume and follows through on both claims.
Here is a closer look at the Lash Domination wand.
So what happened when I tried it? I know you are dying to know… At first, the mascara was extremely wet which I always find to be an issue with new mascaras so I left it open for a while before coming back to it. I find that they always apply better once they’ve dried out a tiny bit. The wand is quite difficult to work with and manipulate as it requires a lot of twisting and rotating. What happened to just brushing the lashes upwards and then a quick brush downwards hey? The wand did grab each lash and there were definitely no signs of clumping or flaking which is a bonus. Nobody wants to be left with those dreaded spider eyelashes. You all know the ones I mean. However, it did smear slightly underneath my eye despite not actually using any on my bottom lashes (I never apply to my bottom lashes) but that was nothing that a bit of micellar solution and a cotton bud couldn’t sort out. I feel that this mascara is definitely better suited for those with longer and fuller lashes as I just didn’t get the desired results when used alone. My lashes appeared fuller but not necessarily longer. They still looked quite short but just thicker. It just didn’t really compare to the mascara that I’m currently using which is actually £6.00 cheaper BUT when used with Soap & Glory’s Thick & Fast mascara (my favourite) it works like an absolute dream. Result… Gorgeous lashes! I’d love to know how well it works alone on the longer lashed ladies though… I imagine it would work quite well. If any of you have tried it, let me know your thoughts.
(bareMinerals are doing a 2-for-1 on Lash Domination with a mini mascara and a full sized mascara at £16.00, usually £24.00.)
Have you tried Lash Domination mascara? What were your thoughts? What is your favourite mascara?

L-R: Go The Distance, Make Your Move, Light It Up.
RRP: £16.00 each.
Now, I’m not a massive user of bareMinerals products normally as they don’t cater to my skin needs unfortunately, it is usually for those with sensitive skin conditions or those who require a lighter coverage. I, personally, tend to need more of a medium/full coverage when it comes to make up. However, I was in the beauty salon on Saturday having a pamper day with my mother when I came across the bareMinerals Marvellous Moxie lipsticks and instantly fell in love with some of the beautiful colours on offer. Sadly, a few of the other colours I wanted were out of stock so I only came home with three but as my mum kindly reminded me “you only have one pair of lips, Erin”. Thanks mum!
The lipsticks are unbelievably creamy, rich, glossy and they glide on to your lips effortlessly. They offer a full coverage and they also have lip plumping agents without the tingle. How awesome? The only issue I found was that they have a tendency to be a little drying but that’s nothing that a good lip balm underneath can’t sort out. They feel comfortable and look great. Now onto the colours I purchased…
Make Your Move.
This is a neutral pink shade with brown undertones. It almost looks nude on my lips. It’s perfect for casual everyday wear (especially at work) and leaves a lovely glossy sheen on your lips.
Light It Up.
This is a deep coral red coloured lipstick. It reminds me of MAC’s Ablaze slightly but much glossier and creamier. It is a stunning bold colour that adds an amazing pop of colour to your face.
Go The Distance.
Another coral coloured lipstick but this is more of an orange coral. It looks slightly pink in this picture but I assure you it looks more tangerine coloured in real life. It is a soft yet vivid colour and possibly my favourite of the three I bought.
I’d definitely purchase more of these lipsticks. Hopefully next time I go to the salon, they’ll have some other colours in stock for me to snap up.
Do you own any of the Marvellous Moxie lipsticks? Do you like bareMinerals make up? What other products do you own?
